Experienced Music Technology teacher

Schools

Music Technology AS and A2 qualifications are now popular options for students in many schools. This A-Level requires a large amount of equipment and expertise to operate it, and many schools have invested into building music studios and purchasing specialist software for it. Even for schools that do not currently offer Music Technology as a subject, there are now opportunities to use Music Technology as part of standard Music GCSEs and A-Levels.

Music Technology is concerned with the recording and production of music using computers and music studios. There are two main areas. Firstly there is recording, where a musical performance is captured and processed into a polished work ready for publishing to CD or MP3. Secondly there is computer sequencing, where a computer is used to write and perform music. This can be particularly helpful for students who struggle with traditional instruments and notation.

Since working at The Willink School in Berkshire as an instructor in Music Technology, I have seen other schools struggle to grasp the technology behind the subject. Many schools have opted to use music teachers for the subject who do not know how to use the software and equipment that is unique to Music Technology. I offer my services to schools as a skilled and practising engineer with experience of teaching Music Technology. I understand the problems the subject can cause for teachers and senior staff.

I am able to help in whatever area you need. From instructing teachers how to use new hardware and software, to studio services. I can impartially advise schools with their equipment purchases or design entire working studios within most budgets. Please contact me with any queries. I am always willing to talk honestly and in detail about the work you may require.
